I love that the Lord can speak through just about anything. There is a song by Sara Bareilles called "Let The Rain," that has been on constant repeat in my car for a couple weeks now. The song is great, but there is this particular line that really resonates with me.
"Let the rain come down, make a brand new ground."
I don't know why I loved that set of lyrics so much but as I was listening to it tonight I realized because I love the concept of rain causing things to become new.
As I listened to it, the Lord just reminded me of his grace. When his grace comes down, he makes us new.
Personally that just blows my mind! I often times struggle with grace and how it makes no sense that someone can love me so much regardless my MANY mistakes.
I make mistakes daily and am nowhere near perfect, yet the perfect and amazing God of the universe loves me.
I think my favorite part of rain is that once it stops everything is still and calm. And once the ground soaks up the water it is able to use it to grow and flourish into something beautiful.
To me this totally amplifies God's grace! His grace falls on us and we are made new and clean. With that grace comes the peace and calm of knowing that we are no longer bound by the past. And finally we are then able to grow into the beautiful creations that God intended for us to be. He never intended for us to be condemned by our past, he intended for us to be free in his grace. To dance in the river of his presence and never ending grace.
"Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
